About 8 years ago I met a lovely man called Jonathon Fisher who had just launched a new business called Wake up Sydney with Kindness Cards designed to encourage more anonymous acts of kindness. Since then, that inspiration from Jono has snowballed in to quite a massive movement with over 150,000 people engaging in what is now called Wake Up Project, via transformative events and film screenings.
This month’s time-to tip is inspired by the Kindness Card initiative, but instead of an anonymous act of kindness, I would love to propose an unexpected act of kindness to your loved ones, or acquaintances.
Sometimes we get caught up in our day to day life that we forget to give attention to the people that we share our life with. Let’s not take the people in our life for granted. Let’s celebrate our love and friendship by acts of kindness each day.
A simple smile. Eye contact when talking. Leaving the phone in another room when together. A mini massage. A hug. Or something else that you know that they would love.
I dare say, it will ignite a warm and fuzzy feeling in both you.
We all need a gentle reminder now and then. That’s why we’ve created ‘time to’ tips, that remind you to make genki choices. And help to make your day and life that little bit better. Modern life is complicated enough as it is, so we like to keep things simple, practical and do-able at Be genki.
