Maintaining optimal hydration is one of, if not THE key to health, beauty and wellbeing. Not only are we two-thirds water, but every cell, groups of cells, and organ requires water to function optimally.
Quite simply, water can be the answer to many of your skin and health concerns. The short version for “why?” is as follows … If you don’t drink enough water, the kidneys and liver are compromised, and therefore not as effective at detoxifying waste from the body. Increasing your water consumption can help with weight loss, simply by aiding the body to function optimally and eliminate waste.
Hydration also helps to plump your skin cells bringing about that desired smoother youthful appearance. One of the skin’s primary functions is to eliminate toxins and metabolic waste via sweating. If the body accumulates more toxins that the kidneys and liver can handle, then the skin takes over.
So, my ‘time-to’ tip this month is to remember to hydrate with a glass of purified water each hour. Next month I’ll be delving deeper in to the type of water to drink and why, as well as easy tips to integrate to improve your water quality.
