my secret to a genki life:
It’s not so much a secret as an ongoing goal I constantly remind myself of. As I get older I try to live my life acknowledging the good stuff, even when things aren’t going my way. Finding an hour of happiness here, 15 minutes of joy there. My mum always says to me ‘life was not meant to be easy, but it can be delightful’ and so I actively try to find that delight in the struggle and in the mundane. My husband helps immensely with this.

Delightful is the perfect word for these moments to chase (in the struggle and mundane – perfect). I find even a tiny interaction or shared moment or giggle with a stranger can make an enormous impact on your mood and the rest of your day. I once read an article on the importance of having more of what they called ‘fleeting moments of intimacy’ that enrich our lives so much. Love this!!
